Rootz Showcases Innovation and Compliance at SBC Summit Barcelona

A team of professionals representing Rootz has returned from the SBC Summit in Barcelona, Spain, where industry leaders and experts gathered from around the globe to share insights and explore new opportunities within the regulated gaming landscape.

Leading the Way at SBC

In 2023, Rootz was invited to join the prestigious SBC Leaders collective, an initiative that provides enhanced opportunities for networking and collaboration within the broader iGaming community. Demonstrating the brand's rapid growth and technological prowess, Rootz was also shortlisted for the Rising Star award, attending the official ceremony alongside the world’s top industry representatives.

Balancing Innovation and Regulation

A key highlight of the summit was the participation of Sam Brown, CEO of Rootz, as an official speaker. Sam took part in a high-level panel discussion titled: “Everything, everywhere, all-of-the-time - managing marketing, tech & compliance.”

The panel explored the complex relationship between strict regulation and the customer experience. The discussion focused on how operators can balance the mandatory requirements of compliance with the desire to provide an engaging and enjoyable experience for their users.

Sam was joined on stage by industry experts including Abby Cosgrave (LeoVegas Group), Roger Redfearn-Tyrzyk (IDnow), and Warren Russell (W2). The group navigated the ways in which gaming companies can maintain an optimized customer journey while ensuring that regulatory frameworks designed to protect players—such as those found in the German market—are always prioritized. The speakers reached a clear consensus: innovation and regulation are not opposites; rather, they must coexist to ensure a sustainable and safe future for the industry.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

The Rootz delegation included representatives from Marketing, CRM, and Affiliates, as well as AML and Compliance teams. They participated in multiple conference tracks, round tables, and panel discussions, meeting with delegates from every sector of the global industry to refine best practices for the Rootz portfolio.

The summit concluded with the SBC Awards at the historic Casa Codorníu, celebrating the achievements of the industry’s most forward-thinking companies.

Following the success of the Barcelona event, the summit transitioned to its new home in Lisbon, Portugal, for 2024 and beyond, continuing to serve as a vital point of engagement for the Rootz team as we drive innovation in the licensed gaming sector.
